How are icons made? In short they are made with love for God, love for the commisioner, and love for the materials.
In terms of materials, icons come in different media. For example, an icon may be made through wood carving, panel painting, mosaic making, metal work, glass work, or through multiple other materials.
Here you'll see two examples of making: one a wood panel painting, and the other a mosaic.
